eliotrw wrote: Wouldnt it replace / make redundant the pipes too? Or no? it can do,just put a straight hose joiner between the two coolant pipes if its mainly a road car I would leave the heat exchanger fitted, and fit the mocal sandwhich plate to it. As the heat exchanger is used to warm the oil in cold weather, and tbh mocal oil coolers over cool the oil on road cars. ________________________________________ Red GTB1756 powered Fabia VRS daily driver,LBSC Gti6 eater........Mac1 ZR R1 kit car build in progress. |

Not really!!! If you don't reconnect coolant pipes to heat exchanger you might aswell bin heat exchanger totally!! ________________________________________ Red GTB1756 powered Fabia VRS daily driver,LBSC Gti6 eater........Mac1 ZR R1 kit car build in progress. |

eliotrw wrote: Im confused now then :s explain lmao... Your two options are when fitting a air to oil cooler: 1.Remove heat exchanger, join coolant pipes together, fit Mocal cooler plate straight onto engine block. 2.Leave heat exchanger on the block with coolant pipes connected, fit Mocal plate to heat exchanger. ________________________________________ Red GTB1756 powered Fabia VRS daily driver,LBSC Gti6 eater........Mac1 ZR R1 kit car build in progress. |

Ok so in number 2 there would effectively be 2 oil coolers? Correct? Obviously with the mocal coming into effect the same time as the the standard one?And 2 is the best option for road? How many rows? I noticed you can get them in a few sizes for 10 up. ________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |

I have both the sandwich plate and heat exchanger still fitted on mine. I run a 19 row oil cooler, but to be honest on a standard car (or low boost) a 13 row will be more than sufficient. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

I've been thinking about making a few of the recommended s/c changes pretty soon just to reduce the initial outlay.Slimline fans etc etc. However realistically this is just going to push back how quickly I can sort out my suspension. So i think I might have to just sort this for now and re-visit the oil cooler thing at a later date :S Theres so many bits I have lying around that i need to actually start fitting stuff now ________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |

IMO, if the prices of the smaller parts push back Suspension changes, then you need to be asking yourself are you getting cold feet at the idea of opening your wallet. With the supercharger idea, you are either commited and happy to shell out money left right and centre with the aim of a finished setup your happy with or it isn't for you IMO. ________________________________________ |

No no no i am happy with the cost. Its just atm I think the momeny would be better spend sorting the suspension. Once thats done the next port of call is a exhaust from prospeed and then looking at build a nice platform for the supercharger around april/may. This would involve doing the fan work, getting an oil cooler and a new nissen rad ________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |
