Does someone make a locking wheelnut that allows the stud to pass through the centre of the nut. All the ones I've seen have been so the stud has to be the correct length

Ah right, what size studs did you run with those, 68mm? The thing with them being closed is that they have to be correct or the wheels don't tighten. Your not running any spacers or anything BTW?

I just fitted 3 studs on each hub then used one locking bolt, that way i have a few spare to use on other cars to help fit wheels with.

Mine are the open type with 80 mm studs, could not find open nuts at mo bit busy. So then a small part of the stud ckmes out from the nut and not using spacers.

I have the 80mm ones in case i have alloys that need the extra length you see.

That's a good idea, never would have thought of that. Means wheels are a piece of p**s to fit and also a good way to confuse people when you get new tyres fitted Smile

So 68 should be more than enough really for standard wheel fitament, aslong as it is run with an open nut?

If you mean 68 mm studs then yes they will be fine.

The studs dont have to go all the way through the nuts as long as they are on a good amount as the nuts iv linked are quite big, they do look good imo.

I've got a 20mm spacer on the rear of mine. So needed something longer. I have 8 of the rally design studs here, 80mm long that I'm now not going to use.

The only thing I dislike about the rally design ones, are the part between the 2 threads. That is a recessed part, and you are actually able to keep winding the stud through the hub, on to the part that the wheel nut goes on.

The other ones from rally nuts, the non threaded part is larger... So that means there is only so far you can wind them in to the hub. I prefer the security of it not being able to go to far.

I think I explained that ok!

Yeah I know what you mean, the non-threaded section means that you tighten the stub against the hub and then it is fix as it can't go further into the hub, whereas if the stud of the rally design ones wanted to, they could go further into the hub due to nothing being there to stop them.

That bit also makes them stronger too, so better to get them tbh, once disk is on there is very little of it left.

I was going to go for them anyway, didn't like the sound of the stud being able to move No

I used some high strength thread lock and i tapped the bolt holes and used loads of brake cleaner so the thread lock will work as should and you wont have any worries of them coming off.

M12 x 1.25 size thread tap, i got mine from ebay. Just be careful when tapping them as you dont want to fook them up anyhow.

I should have a tap in my box of tricks, but I've just taken both the front hubs off since I'm sorting the suspension out and may get them powder coated since I get it done for free and I'm a dick. Get it all looking nice again Smile

I also need to get the snapped bolts out of the hub so the blow lamp will be flying on them tomorrow
