Got a Decat and a magnex system on the rallye and it sounds really raspy around the Decat area. Is it likely to be a blow causing the rasp or is it the Decat? Would heat wrapping it make a difference? |

Decats do tend to increase the 'raspy' sound of the system, probably still best to check it if you think it could be blowing though.Apparently wrapping does quieten them down a bit ________________________________________ Team 'unintentional rat look' |

Apparently wrapping does quieten them down a bit ^^ This I would get under the car and just check it whilst it's running to be sure there are no leaks but I'm guessing it's just the sound they make that you're hearing. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

When I first got a decat in my power flow the actual decat itself let loads of noise through so you get a horrible rasping from Underneath the car. I heat wrapped the whole Down pipe all the way to the centre box and it's much improved. Had it off to change a few exhaust gaskets the other day before going supercharged and found I had some spare heatwrap after doing my manifold ages ago so I went over the top of the wrap on the decat again so now it has 2 layers. No noise from it at all now even at full boost and pops and bangs out the exhaust like a goodun ________________________________________ Black power baby! It's rasps with throttle not at idle, will heat wrap it. Anything recommended? |
