Ok, one of the jobs i need to do when i get home is a refresher of the rear beam brake lines on my HDi. I got an advisory for light corrosion on one where the coating had peeled at a securing clip.

I am just looking for pointers/advice from those who've done it before, i fully intend to buy a kit and make them myself as I have no doubt the Rallye will need attention too.

I understand the rear unions to all be M10x1, is this correct? My understanding is the only place i'd find M12 would be on my Rallye's load compensator?

I thought that the pre-bent steels were no more, you got copper instead?

I just made mine from copper as it's cheaper and easier, mine's P1 and it has some M12s where the pipes on the beam attach to the pipes on the car, under the boot floor pan. That cupro-nickel pipe is also harder to flare than simple copper, but will last longer if you have a half-decent flare tool.

There's a thread on it before where someone told me about it, you need to be careful what material to get the connectors in - mine are brass, but there could be corrosion issues if you used stainless into the cast iron calipers, or something similar.
