Although I found that driving around normally they feel a little vague until a good amount of presser is applied. Then they stop well.

If they're not rebuilt then when they get old the seals get sticky and the sliders corrode so there's a lot of pad knockback/retraction which causes that.

I rebuilt mine with some square section seals to reduce retraction and anti-knockback springs to stop any from vibration and they bite hard as soon as you touch them now.

Ah... righto. We can sort that then. Any idea where is best to get a new seal kit and what the approximate cost may be? I know the sliders are okay and the pads are free and the antisqueel shim/plate is good. We just didn't change the seals as they appeared to be fine. But I'll change those if you think it'll help.

Cool. I'll look into that. I know what Phillipm meant. Just clean the area the pads move in. Cheers guys

Yes, there's 4 stainless steel plates the pads slide on....they get galvanic corrosion under them (as the stainless reacts with the ally), bow up and grab the pads.

Seals - I didn't use standard ones, I used some Hispec race ones that I know were cut square, not tapered for piston retraction.

Are you sure about the anti_squeal proprieties of g88? Because i'll use that brake disc with ferodo ds2500 pads and under soft brake squeals a lot. Under heavy brake sound of silence!

Brake squeal tends only to occur with light braking and not when they are used in heavy use.

This is true. Although my cheaper discs tend to squeal constantly. The harder I press, the louder it gets sometimes. LOL
