What's the difference between a ph 2.5 car and a phase 3? I've got a 1999 on a V plate, and I don't know which it is?
Thanks in advance!

if your a V plate I'd have thought you were a ph3 T plates tended to be the 2.5's sure they changed bits here and there over the years up until 2001 but my V is full Ph3 ________________________________________ Proud Member of the ASTOR Owners Club |

Phase 2.5's tend to be around may 99 T reg, mine is a may 99 and has phase 2 clocks but phase 3 seats, non colour coded rub strips but the later dash surround etc etc, I like to call it a parts bin special as it seems to have a good mix of both phases ie whatever was on the shelf at the time but is neither or lol! yours is likely phase 3 being a V reg unless a dealer had it in stock and unsold for a long time, which I find unlikely.________________________________________ Team Running Engine again!Team Negative Camber! Should be a straight swap iirc, it's phase one that's got slight differences sensor wise.________________________________________ Team Running Engine again!Team Negative Camber! My Budget track engine build thread! Now appearing at a Trackday near you!! |

Phase 2s were just the period of change between the non facelift and facelift models.Every gti6 I've seen between 97 and 98/99 have all been different. They just used what ever they had left from the phase 1,s at the time. |

Another example is I've owned to 97's one had no boot trim, one did. P1 seats other had P3.Doesn't really matter though the ony problem it can cause is that the ballpoints changed from 16 to 18mm around then. In my experience 97 was 16 and 98 was 18.... Crazy french |

That's down to what previous owners have done though, not down to what was done in the factory. ________________________________________ Rich |

My '98 (S) was a a proper 2.5, Phase 3 interior (bar dials, airbag switch and the really pointless doorcard pockets which were barely big enough for 3 single CD cases!), phase 2 exterior (bar the gash black tailgate trim).________________________________________ I Live for the 306TEAM CHERRY PINK RALLYE 2008 BMW ///M 320d |
