I have 2 Gti-6 gearboxes with shorter final drives in. Both were bought to keep as spares for my btcc 306 but doesn't look like I'll ever be using them... I have not used either of them, one was bought from Chris Bowen aka Bigbadbowen on here, the other from a guy who used it in a rallying 306 but found it was too short for some stages so went back to a standard box.

I'm going to have to check what the FD is on them, but 4.8 sounds right from memory.

[edited due to post below] The BBB one is a genuine PeugeotSport Boutique tarmac rally box with a machined shaft which incorporates a needle roller bearing on first gear. This improves the strength massively compared to the standard bearings, ideal for standing starts etc or when there is high load on the first gear bearing.

The other box as far as I am aware is a standard road car box with a shorter FD fitted.

BBB box I would like to see the £850 I paid for it back again.

Cheaper box now sold!

Both boxes are supplied with a standard diff only.

I can have these courier'd on a pallet for around £50 or collect from Harrogate, North Yorks.

Hmmmm

Ok just to let you know the box I sold Pete was originally from France and nothing to do with longmans No

It was a Peugeot boutique Tarmac box with turned crown and pinion with needle roller bearings on first gear. It had a 4.8 final drive

Standard gear ratios other than final drive

Sweet box for acceleration Big grin Yes

Anymore details on the £500 box? As these might be perfect for hill climbing!

Also, what sort of speed would you see at about 3.5-4k in 6th?

Not a lot tbh, the guy said the box was from a car with 62k on it, drove absolutely spot on but obviously I can't verify this.

I've got a speed graph somewhere, i'll dig it out....

You can download a program from Quaifes website that does it for you. Just put in each ratio, the FD and the tyre size and hit calculate!
