Cut off your tow eye, the two ends of the tow eye is welded to the chassis leg with a hole between then, u used that hole to bolt mine on. will have to get pics of my mounting point

I don't know much but would towing a car for a duration of time just on 1 bolt be safe?

By all means put an unnecessary piece of coloured nylon onto your towing eye to make yourself feel good (believe me, others will think you are a tool) but don't cut off the towing eye as when you finally realise it is a retarded thing to do you will have no other option but to leave it there.

I can see the benefit of these strap things if there is no tow eye at all, but to cut a more than sturdy OE one off to fit one seems bizzare to me?

what are the PH2/3 towing eyes like? the P1 Sport item is a beastly as fook item bolted on not just a skinny ass welded loop, the skinny ass base model loop is left just below hidden by the bumper LOL

*Warning, controversial content ahead!*

Towing straps along with sticker saying 'TOW HERE' - no s**t sherlock really?! (no offence eddy!), sticker bombing and hanging a cuddly toy from your chassis/exhaust are all just something a 17year old would do! It just looks terrible! Thumbs down LOL

The later ones are fairly hardcore as well Mei. Must be a solid 8/9mm bar bent to shape and seam welded to the chassis leg. You could jack the car up on it if you wanted to

So this is just an aesthical mod and not something of a formallity for propper track days as that is what I presumed as it seems like a lot of the track regulars have them fitted?

Probably presumed wrong from the responses as it was something that always put me off them as I have enough stickers on the car already LOL

Got one of these on my 6 a few months ago in orange to match calipers and owners club stickers etc, reason being when I bought my 6 it had been destroyed by some little chav who decided to have an awful body kit fitted. When doing this they had to cut off the O.E towing eye to make it fit.
Would have no other way of towing the car otherwise. Still undecided if I like it or not tbh, however it serves a purpose in my case.

Is the OE tow eye still as good when this has happened?

Short, straight bar with tow point on opposite sides of cars, and guy towing me turned sharp into junction = fail Laugh my ass off

One of the few tools we take to track days is a hammer Smile along with cable ties and duct tape, fix nearly anything with those LOL

So there are no point to these things at all?

What about the metal central ones that people like to fit to the rear? Dunno
