After years of being advised by my mot tester about the play in my steering column I finally got round to changing it. What a difference, it feels like I have fitted new ball joints & track rod ends too!
Can't believe I'd put up with it for so long
Thanks to dangti6 for the replacement column Thumbs up

Hey,

Had some up down play in the steering wheel for a while. Pulled it apart last night, well as far as getting hte wheel off. Buggered. Not good and only made it worse.

Basically, theres few 306 parts out here and finding a column, let alone a good one is going to be hard.

Can i get one direct from Peugeot? Also, can I replace the bearings that are shot instead of the whole column? Not too fussed about cost, just need it back on the road.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. off to the scrap yards tomorrow i guess!

Mine has a bit of up and down play and it is on my list of things to change. If it makes that much difference I best find one and get on with it LOL

Yeah but what wears? Some times you can loosed the lower uj and push or pull the inner column and this will tighten it up
