Now this is a strange one. Even I don't understand Huh?

I was always led to believe all gti6 and rallyes had brake compensators fitted to rear axle.

But lately I have found that although even some hdis do aswell, not all gti6s do.

Anyone care to explain why?

As now, if anyone wants a beam off me, I have to ask if their car has a compensator or not, so I can supply the right ' hangers'

Cheers

They are not fitted to any phase 3 cars as the ABS unit is updated to provide electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD).

Phase 1 and 2 have compensators, Phase 3's do not as they are fitted with EBD and the limiting of brake fluid to the rear is done via the ABS pump. Yes

Late 1999, but it could be that you had a 2000 registered car which was actually built early 99...

No problem. Thumbs up

Just make sure you ask the question then you'll be good to go.
