Right, bit of a rubbing issue still on the TU engined models (ecu cover again...), and the Ph1 cars bonnet stay bracket rubs the top of the brace - working on shuffling the tube over slightly, but as always, it may catch on some cars. It's the edges where the bracket is folded over though, so 10 seconds with a ball peen or a file sorts it out - it only just kisses. Aside from that, bit of testing on the extra's that tie into to the master cylinder to stiffen the bulkhead, they seem to be fine easy enough to adjust - although I've just found that the strut brace is stiff enough that it's possible to push the bulkhead backwards with it and lock the brakes on if you adjust the bolt too much ![]() Good old Peugeot tin foil bulkheads! Anyhow, I'll make another one up next week with the tweaks and try it on some more phases/models again, just a wee bit of a delay. ________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. As I have the wide track on the dimma, the strut tops are more outboard than standard using the McPherson adapters.Would you recomend a strut brace that uses the standard mounting holes/McPherson adaptor holes or the new top mount/McPherson adaptor holes? Or would a brace that incorporates the new and old holes be best? A picture would probably help explain what I mean but can't up load one. Thanks Ollie |

Can you send one through to the e-mail in my sig so I can see what you mean? Are they just a plate that transfers the holes across?Making wider versions is fine though, already got one after a wider one for a dimma ![]() ________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. Okay, if those offset plates are as beefy as they look on the photo then I'd imagine a normal one would do you fine.________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. Thay are 10mm thick alloy but reduce down to 8mm in places, I would imagine a normal brace picking up on 3 out of the 5 attachment holes would do the job, if you could pick up all 5 I think you would have a problem with bonnet clearance! |

I was thinking the same thing looking at the picture, picking up on the outer ones might make the bonnet catch, try a standard one, should be fine with plates that thick up there.________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. A bit of extra chassis stiffness here will definitely help if the bulkhead is that flimsy. Fewer creaks and rattles from the dash, better turn in etc. ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |
