Alrite chaps,

It seems that none of my sidelights are working, and same story with the rear number plate lights.

Checked fuses and replaced with known working ones to no avail. Tried swapping lights over from my other car to no avail.

Any ideas?

Do the instrument lights illuminate?

Stalk is a good shout. I have one somewhere.

I thought the stalk too, but when I turn it, dash illuminates so guessed it wasnt the stalk that was the issue as it recognised I had turned it?

Not necessarily, it could be a double-pole switch, so it actually has two separate electrical switches inside the one mechanical unit.

I don't know if that's the case, but that's how it works if you want to have one switch control two things on different fuses or relays.

Managed to get mine working in the end so thought i would post up my solution.

I had recently changed the heater matrix so was pretty sure it was a loose connection somewhere. It turned out to be the main loom connection between behind the dash and the engine bay (found under neath the windscreen wiper motor). I basically just unplugged it and plugged it back in again and it worked.

Hopefully this helps out someone in the future!
