Hi,

My driver side window falls down. So if I put it down the front that is closest to the wing mirror falls down - does anyone know what it could be?

Cheers Smile

The window has come out of the runners by the sounds of it prob due to a knackered clip or the runner at the front has come away.

Take the door card off and peel back the foam, power down the window until you can access the window + clip and inspect.

Post up here when you can see what's wrong and ill take you from there. Thumbs up

Be careful if you're buying a second hand motor unit, they fit different in phase 1's than phase 2/3's. I had to chop some bolts up to fit them and they use a different rubber part to hold the window on the main slider.

It sounds like the clip on the side of the window nearest the B-pillar has broken. These can be had from pug for a quid or two.

This job really got on my tits when my drivers side one went bad. Thinking back it's so easy to fix, just had the wrong parts! Good luck

The clip will undoubtedley let go again (I had a garage refit the window twice for it to fail again within a few weeks), I lubed the runners with silicone grease and then used a dremmel to key up the surface of the glass on both sides in the area the clip fits onto the window, I then put epoxy resin on the glass and the clip and left the two to cure for half an hour before refitting. It never came off again after that.

Yes, as above a few years ago my wife's dturbo had this problem, tried several clips and I ended up changing the whole window regulator mechanism. It just popped out again. Turns out all it needed was a good spray of silicone around the seals and it was fine after that.
