Just pay for it yourself and get on with your life. £5 for some mortar and an hour's work, not worth the hassle IMO.

Are you having a laugh?

Why should he have to sort it out? The guy who stole the car *should* pay for it, but we all know he won't so it's probably best left down to the Police or the insurance of the victim. Personally, I would be non-stop on the phone to the law until they got a contracting firm to come around and rebuild it for me. Yes

Because sometimes it's not worth spending possibly months calling up people who don't care about your wall trying to get some chav convicted in court so he has to pay the costs, just to have to then wait to get the money out of him.

If you've got that kind of time in your life then good for you, but sometimes it's easier to just suck it up.

True, but they did get crashed into by a stolen Saxo before being nicked, so maybe they'd only been installed a few minutes before.

I think there is a victims compensation fund for things like this. The rossers should be able to advise you on this when you call them

I'm sure a post shouldn't cost too much, but then again it could work on a % of the cost basis.

I would still suggest pursuing this, there is no way you should have to pay for any of this or even be involved in sorting it IMO. No

Don't get me wrong I agree, you shouldn't have to pay for it at all and I'd be annoyed too. However, having seen how these things play out for before, even if you do get it paid for eventually it could be months or years, so if you don't want to still be dealing with it by then and having bricks all over your driveway, it's probably easier to just sort it yourself.

Obviously this depends on your own circumstances, how own time to money balance, and how bothered you are about it. If you have a mate who could fix it for beer tokens, just do it. If it's going to be hundreds to replace your Roman wall then it's worth pursuing.

Or just call up the officer who's dealing with it and ask him outright if it's worth it or just going to be a waste of time.
