I'm not 100% convinced it's not chain slap due to the fact there is no tensioner. But it's a very high quality chain so extra insurance.

I was under the impression that Rich had one let go because he fitted a used chain which had already done some decent mileage on his new build engine. This is the reason why when it came to building my current engine Rich bought a new one to be on the safe side.

Has he had more than just the one failure then? Dunno
