So car failed on a few things, incorrect bulbs, headlight alignment, empty washer bottle LOL

AND rear nearside brake caliper leaking.

So i whipped the wheel off and the piston seal is broken and leaking fluid, its not too bad but bad enough to notice and bad enough to fail.

So whats my best option?

Can i get a repair kit with caliper seal in it? If so from where?

Best off just getting a replacement caliper?

Not a bad result i guess just more f**king annoying than anything else, now i have to source yet another part, have it fitted etc etc, shes just like a woman this car, a constant leech on the wallet Guns

No, the side indicator incorrect bulbs - basically they were the right bulbs but over time the orange colouration has faded off and now they are clear, and illegal, apparantly....

It ran out today, and well i didnt fill it up....

So Stan, can you get a repair seal or is it better to get a used caliper?

Thing is i painted my calipers yellow so if i can get a new seal i would rather do that as then i dont have an odd one out

Can't imagine going to an MOT testing station that wouldn't just fill the f**king washer bottle up for you.

From Peugeot? Presumably i still need to bleed the system etc? Not a case of putting a new bit of rubber on and jobs done is it? Unsure

I believe under the MOT rules they're not allowed to - they log when the MOT starts and finishes and aren't allowed to do any work to the car once they've started, even if they know it'll fail.

Well not really, if you suddenly had a load of s**t sprayed on your windscreen and had no way of washing it off that'd be pretty dangerous for you and everyone around you.

Yeah but just bleed that one caliper?

Make sure the bleed nipple is free before coughing up for a seal kit.

Im a novice, never bled nothing before.....i think i'll just get in into a garage and have an aftermarket caliper put on

Its the easiest option

The washer bottle fail, is most likely because there was other stuff it failed on too. I would guess if it was just the empty bottle and everything else was fine they would have filled it up.

Yeah to change the seal is a s**t messy job have done a few, you have to push the piston out of calliper which will cause loads of brake fluid out f**king your yellow paint and skin then you will fit seal and come to refit piston which can be trickey to get it in square then you will think oh i need some sort of piston push back tool to get it back to refit calliper! the bleeding is the easy part just get someone to fully depress the pedal as you open ze nipple then release the pedal once you have shut nipple and repeat till all air is expelled!
just buy new calliper! Thumbs up

Stick a clamp on the brake hose before you do the seal kit or caliper. Then when it's done all you need to do is pull the fluid through that caliper.

You know it is an offence to drive around with an empty washer bottle! Plod can do you for it if there having a bad enough day!
