What do people use to treat rust now adays ? Or do I just need to sand it off fully ? ? Cheers |

If you want to be able to paint over it so its not noticeable after you will need to grind it right back to bare metal if it's just surface.If its somewhere hidden, you could you some sort of rust killer like kurust to stop it in its tracks, but the visible rust will still remain. There are many products out there like this, but you really do want to get rid completely and then use a decent primer etc. ________________________________________ |

Yeah I was thinking just grind it all off (surface rust by the looks of things) prime and paint |

grind it back with a wire wheel to bare metal, brush some treatment on it, bilt hamber hydrate 80 works well for me. acid etch primer it so it bites into the metal better, then prime and paint (body fill if need be.) not 100% - it will return one day, but your safe for a further 3-5 years. good luck mate ________________________________________ 1992 205 Rallye - S2 Rallye Engine |
