can anyone help me with wiring in my slimline fan? Been trying to find something but can only find talk about fans for superchargers ect... No wiring diograms or what wires to join?
I have removed the big double fan unit and swaped it for a single 12" slimline fan. I want to try and use standard wiring so the fans will run off the temp sensor on the thermostate housing and also i had my standard fans wired so i could turn them on using my a/c button. Is it possible to wire it so the single fan works in the same way?

I have two slimline ones on mine, i'm using the standard box with relays to control them.
I think that you may have to do a little working on the wiring if you are only using one fan as i think low speed normally runs both fans in series from one of the relays. I can't remember whether high speed is both fans running in parallel from one relay, or if its two relays powering a fan each.

I'm sure ive seen a wiring diagram for it at some point, i'll have a search and get back to you if i find anything useful.

My setup was easy as i basically just used the old circuitry only replacing the fans with my new ones.
I've lost my heater controls now though so i'm looking for a way to still retain the ability to turn my fans on manually with no a/c switch.

Looking at that diagram i reckon you'd want to use the wiring for #30 for your fan, which should be the Green/Yellow wire and Mauve. That would only come on when the car wants to do high speed fan though.

If i was you i think i would bridge pins 2 and 3 from the thermal switch #21, then feed that to pin 2 on #28 the relay. Then feed pin 5 from #28 to your motor, and the other wire from your motor to earth.

I think that should work, i'd probably make up my own loom for that. Smile

Just letting you know Chris that Mei pointed out in a different thread that the wiring diagram i put up above is for a non-ac car, so ours will be different. Doh
