I've been meaning to volunteer at my local one, Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. I've just not got round to it yet, plus not sure how well it'll work as my work schedule is a little hectic, sometimes I end up working on days I was meant to have off at the last minute but it is something I would love to do.

Good railway this one. Travelled on it a few times. I think they still have David shepards black prince there.

Yes The G&WR is the Permanent home of David Shepherd's 'Black Prince' (92203). I have had the privalige of standing on her footplate during a visit to The G&WR one summer although she was not in steam at the time, IIRC they were carrying out a minor overhaul (replacing boiler tubes) at the time.

Picture Is from when she visited The East Somerset Railway recently, Black Prince's first home after David Shepherd bought her and a 4f(which he named 'Green Knight')from BR in the late '60s. I know too much LOL
