apologies, I never knew that the brackets limited the rotor size to 302mm. Could you not remove the spacer inserts for the caliper and run some a 300x32mm rotor then? Would save the hassle of making a custom size rotor up. You would then just have the bells to worry about. ________________________________________ 306 2.1 S16 Tarmac Rally CarProject thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=143956 |

As welshpug says, the brackets are for 302mm discs. With the same calipers the 807 has discs that are 310mm x 32 32 seems silly thick though and not really helping the weight I'll give bridgecraft a shout too. Although I guess it could be worth considering getting brackets 4mm taller made and then running 310mm x 26 bells and rotors with standard 807 pads??? Hmmmmm ________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |

I wouldn't of thought using a rotor 2mm shorter in diameter would hurt. People use 288mm discs on 406 Brembos instead of the 305mm original V6 ones and they seem to have no problems. Possibly even look into some 2mm insert spacers for the calipers and run 28mm thick rotors. It will all come down to the price tag at the end of the day.________________________________________ 306 2.1 S16 Tarmac Rally CarProject thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=143956 |

Not worried about price, this setup "should" still work out cheaper than any other one really, not more at least.________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |

I've not read the thread but if you're after better braking performance just buy the thicker 307 HDI 283mm discs and use them with the standard 6 calipers along with some decent pads. I had the 302mm brake setup from a C4 VTS too much wheel weight, dulled the handling, so ditched them and did the above, works VERY well, never a hint of underpowered brakes. |

Found these on the web which are exactly what i want. Not at this price though! http://www.rallyshop.it/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=17599 I think Citroen sport ones would work out cheaper.... Looking into getting some made elsewhere atm as i have no interest in 8kg discs. ________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |

Just thought i give a little update on here as i am running the bespoke brake setup. On friday i went to the german TüV (MOT) inspection in order to get every modification on my car street legal. Everything went according to plan and after inspecting the car for over an hour and asking the ususal question as of where the different parts come from the tester went for a drive with the car to asses if it is road worthy or not. He took some kind of device with him that measures the performance of the brakes, long story short, when he came back he said that everything was fine except for the brakes... that were utter s**t (this are his own words) after 3 strong braking he got out and measured the disc heat which was only at aproximately 120°C. So the car did not make it because of that now i need to sort this out in order to get the car through the MOT and back on the street. I used all the parts of the C2 R2 Max setup, except the inserts which in the french description are basically a rebuild kit for the pistons. With that i used the plain Brembo rotors from the 207 RC which are the same as the 307 HDI ones so 302X26. Brake pads and i guess this is where it comes down to with this brake setup When i ordered them at my local parts shop i asked for these: http://www.remmenexperts.nl/p/1034/07b31451 As my local dealer is a c**t, instead of ordering me the brembo sport HP2000 pads i asked him, he used the reference and ordered some s**t less than OEM TRW brake pads. These pads squeal like hell and the dust they produce after a few braking sessions is unreal. So now i am trying to sort this out asap, dont know if i should get the inserts which seems a somewhat complex procedure or get these which are about 1,5mm thicker pads with some 1mm titanium Shields?? http://www.oreca-store.com/plaquettes-de-frein-cl-brakes-rc5-pour-mitsubishi-lancer-evo-ou-renault-megane-iii-rs-avant.html http://www.girodisc.com/Girodisc-Front-Titanium-Pad-Shields-_p_6471.html Only concern is the RC5+ pads which i fear are not really adequate for a fast road/occasional track car. As usually every input or advice would be welcome. Cheers Fellas |

That's great news in one aspect, I wonder should you fit the standard calipers etc with uprated pads it will pass, not sure if this will help but surely it would save you spending loads more cash, glad things are moving forward.I have some uprated brembo calipers with rotors pads etc, basically everything you need, pm me if interested I will do you a great deal on them to help you out.
