HI mate, not too hard as you can detach the backbox on its own by undoing the clamp, and taking it off after removing the mounts. Its covered in the Rear Beam Faq as you need to remove the backbox in that.________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |

piece of p**s, will take you about 10 minutes. one bolt holding the backbox clamp to the back of the centre section. undo, and wiggle the box off the 3 rubber mounts. reseal using some form of exhaust putty or paste (unless it's sleeve fitment like a Magnex)________________________________________ 306 rallye reproduction decals (full sets/individual decals) | 306 b-pillar textured vinyl weatherstrips306 slam panel esso stickers | 306 yellow / orange / pension fund red side door badges gti6 inlet manifold badges | 306 rear boot badges (p2/p3) winner of Extraction of toys from prams with outstanding vigour award 2009 [source: gti6 owners club] |

it will have to be cut off and a new one welded onunless your on about the weld on the actual backbox, if so a few inches further down the pipe there should be a clamp ________________________________________ 1997 blaze GTI-6 bought january '11 £800 Spend to date on parts £827.88 |

Well if you're asking how hard it is to replace a backbox that can't be removed, I think you've answered your own question, would be cheaper to replace the whole thing. Even that's not hard to do though, it's all nuts & bolts and a tube of paste from Halfords, I did it the other day and I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

So, in effect you're telling us that whoever fitted it has now made the backbox and centre sections completely inseparable bar cutting them apart? ![]() That isn't very good service IMO. ![]() ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Yeah I picked up a stainless one from here, mid section and back box for about £90, fitted it in ten minutes. I'd do something similar if I were you. ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

To be fair, you could go down the new exhaust route/pick one up second hand and you would probably be happy. However, personally I would take it back to the place that fitted it and complain that they have replaced a 3-piece system with a 2-piece one that makes removing the backbox separately impossible. All companies that make aftermarket exhausts off the shelf for the 306 make them in 3 pieces and even if you go to a custom exhaust place like Powerflow they will tailor an exhaust to your requirements but it will still be a 3-piece system. Go back whilst the job is still fresh on their books and complain. ![]() ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

*By "3-piece" I am referring to the custom exhaust being split into 2 parts with the CAT/Decat being the third part just in case you were thinking the centre and rearbox should be in 3 parts... ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

I know from experience that a powerflow system will fit inside a 306 for transportation in one piece as it didnt come apart. as do Longlife systems. magnex et al will be two part off the shelf though. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |
