Yeah, I'm not a fan of consuming wax. I think Haribo use it so the sweets are more glossy?

Bit of a bump here, but for those interested, I had a go at some dipping.Found that if you do a s**t prep job / masking etc, you get s**t results. Good thing I'm not that lazy.... So I like the product, but in my haste to remove the masking tape I caught and pulled on the coating, which like a latex glove, just stretches and peels off the plastic until it snaps. I masked it back up and touched up a few area's, I'm pretty happy with the ability to blend it back in. Overall, I like the results on the bump strips, but I'm not sold on the spoiler, it's very textured. I would imagine it's a better idea to matt black spray a spoiler than use this stuff. I keyed the spoiler, but sprayed directly onto bump strips. I'll sort some pics out ________________________________________ Red Rallye - Rolling "restoration"Wishbone Polybushes available |

Are you pleased with the results?I watched many a video on Youtube and thought it looked quite good but never really do they show an upclose shot It sounds like any spray painting with practice and prep I am sure it will prove its worth My first experience on spraying was last month with matt black wheels with normal car paint as I could not find any plasti dip Now I am trying to respray one cyclone but matching the others is a mare so I might do two as you cant see both sides of the car at once Will you persevere with platic dip? ________________________________________ Nile Blue |

I'm really pleased with the results. As I say, with some better prep it would be a lot better. All I did was to panel wipe the plastics, tape up with news paper for over-spray and spray. I didn't really get my edges done very well with the tape, but for the take of a masking up and filling in the voids, I'm not too worried about it I like the product a lot! Depends how well it'll hold up though, as it is a lot more expensive than paint. I ordered mine from the ebay shop, which is actually more expensive than direct from the plasti dip uk site ________________________________________ Red Rallye - Rolling "restoration"Wishbone Polybushes available |

Yeah mate, if you take stuff off the car it will be a LOT better. You'll not have to worry about the edges or the tears the tape can create. By keying, I basically mean I sanded the spoiler with wet and dry, again, as I'm so lazy, I didn't take the pit marks out. You can see them in the comparison picture ________________________________________ Red Rallye - Rolling "restoration"Wishbone Polybushes available |

...I hope I'm not the only one having a chuckle about my cracking joke there? I bought two tins. Did about 7 coats on my spoiler, and either 5 or 6 on my bump strips. I wanted to see what a black badge would look like, so I got two coats of the badge before it emptied. I'm going to dip the plastic mirror surrounds too, (how do they come off? With the mirrors?) To give an example of coverage, I would say it took about 4 coats before the Silver badge was covered ________________________________________ Red Rallye - Rolling "restoration"Wishbone Polybushes available |

(so he offered to pull mine off) <- deliberate 3 would guarantee all the plastics done, but 2 is probably enough. I don't know if anyone has seen the clear dip they do and also the gloss activator? I'm half thinking of dipping my bonnet and then using the clear coat to act as a bit of stone protection ________________________________________ Red Rallye - Rolling "restoration"Wishbone Polybushes available |
