I've recently broken my rallye, and as the shell has been sat in a friends yard, someone has approached him and asked if.he can buy the car. Basically there's a shell and dash. The front chassis legs are bent and.most panels have been damaged.

So I'm guessing this guy wants the cars identity.

Would I encounter any issues with the sale? As long as I write a receipt mentioning I'm retaining the engine and that he collects the car as its signed for, would you think I'll encounter any issues?

I've not spoken to the chap myself, so I'm not entirely sure what the story is

Receipt means F-all. Get the V5 signed and sent off and he can do what he likes with it.

It was never going to be illegal for me, I was always going to be getting the V5 sent off with his details etc

Just wondering if there would be a come back on me after selling him the shell and V5 (car)

I'd thought that like, there's basically, a shell (with subframe) and dashboard... dunno how much the scrap value would be

Well... why would someone want to buy a ruined shell? If not for the numbers etc? *EDIT* I know he could just want it for scrap. He also asked about the wheels *

But I'm keeping the engine, which technically, him having the V5, he could want the engine from me?

Not your business, lots of people buy shells so he can do what he likes with it, of course if he makes it worth your while that it, No worry about the engine as he cannot prove it the engine out of the car, No engine numbers on these unless your lucky/unlucky as they all rust off.
