I bought a decat off eBay, 2nd hand, to me it looks like its been kinked, can anyone tell me if it has or if it's meant to be so? Ta.

youll find its supposed to be like that. the back end of the cat on my 6 is angled to join the centre pipe.

offer it up to the car and se if it looks ok.

Quite hard to get a good pic of the area, I think the first pic shows the potential problem reasonably well. I can take a pic of the whole thing if that would help?

By the looks of that top pic it seems that it is not ment to be like that.....delivery damage?

I'm going to have to cut that and get someone to weld it for me aren't I? I can't imagine it can be bent back....

Id say that has been kinked.

Obviously at first look they have welded the original flange to a piece of pipe which may of been at a slight angle as previously mentioned but then you can see it looks like it has been squashed if you like.

If it was not packaged in a box and sent in just a bag wrapped around it id say its definitely be dropped or something and is now damaged!

Id contact seller and ask if it was insured and do an item received damaged dispute and let the seller have it out with courier company.

Maybe the car it came from was rear ended. It would take quite a lot of force to squash like that.
