Evening,

I've got what I'm sure is clutch judder when letting the clutch outThumbs down

Just wanted to see if anyone has had juddder which has ended up being something other than the clutch(eng mounts etc)?

When you say rumble, it could be the clutch release bearing in which case you would be changing that anyway. Or does it sound more sinister than that?

Mines juddered since I bought the car with 43k on it..... (now on 110kDunno) although it probs needs changing now.... Almost deffo clutch plate mate and the rumbling could be release bearing..... At a rough guess!

Yeah the rumble is from further along the box than the bell housing, does not change when you depress/release clutchWink

I've used my special listening device to diagnose it,a screwdriver on box and me sticking my ear on the handle!!!Whistle

I did this because it sounded like a bottom end engine rumbleNo but luckily its deffo in boxYes

Could be one of the internal bearings then. Sad

So I take it you are looking to change the box at the same time as you do the clutch then?

Could be sticky back brakes, but if it definitely feels like it comes from the front of the car then check your engine mounts for excessive play.

The other thing it could be is the clutch pressure plate. Did you evenly torque it down onto the flywheel when you fitted it?

After abit of searching on here aparently the flywheel can cause the judder, slightly distortedThumbs down

Needs surface skimming when a new clutch is fitted ideallyWink

I've bought a RichW flywheel to put in mine when I get round to doing clutch/box......Whistle
