Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I wasn't sure where to post it as I don't know what the problem is!

I parked my car up for a while and when I came back to it after about a month, it had about 2 metres of snow on it. That much snow is pretty heavy and it had pushed the car right down to where the arches were as far down over the wheels as they could be, and the bumpers and skirts were almost touching the floor.

After I dug a lot of the snow off I'd hoped it would come up a bit but it didn't, so I left it. The next time I came back to the car I dug all the rest of the covering snow off and it did rise up a bit to the point where the arches were about level with the tyres.

Since then I have managed to start it and drive it a bit(!) but theres a very noticable clunk/knock from around the front wings/wheel area as I reach full lock in both directions, and also a bit of rattling from the same place if i drive over any bumps.

Can anyone suggest what this might be? Is it possible the springs are broken?

Yeah, the funny thing about gravity is, it works downwards. Which would mean the roof and the bonnet would be dented. As the pressure was spread completely evenly this hasn't happened, just a lot of weight in total over the car.

Car isn't in London, would be a bit of a weird thing to make up though! I'll post a pic when I find the right cable!

Top mount bearings/balljoints... are these things that could break just from the car being under a large weight for a long time, even though it's stationary? Sad

Bearings could imprint under that much load and being stationary, so yes, it could be those, check the springs first though.
