It's time for me to replace my engine (well my brother in law will be doing the most of it i'm sure!)

Whilst the engines out what else would people recommend I change whilst I have loads of space to do so? Going to do all the mounts for engine and gearbox but was thinking is it worth changing drop links and the like whist I'm there?

Don't want to go mad with the spending but i'm sure the Mrs could let me have a couple of hundred notes for my true love lol Smile

Cheers Andrew

timing belt water pump crank seals, check the clutch, make sure the exhaust manifold studs+nuts are ok, replace the downpipe gasket.

engine has nowt to do with the droplinks, you wont be disturbing them at all .

I'd be inclined to change gear rods over as these sometimes break when removing from gearbox.

Other than that not a lot really

Change the clutch cable once the engines out, also its a lot easier to do the timing belt and clutch when the engine is out obviously, and pressure wash (cover up exhaust) /spruce up the engine bay, treat and paint any rust you find etc Thumbs up

They may well be superior anyway but of course any new part will feel better than a ruined 15 year-old part, regardless of whether it's uprated. LOL
