Rich ran more than 440 odd bhp at first. In fact I'm sure he had 550bhp at first but he had problems with it. I think he sorted the problems however I seem to recall him telling me it was just too much - strange that!! ________________________________________ My old man wrote me a letter from prison once. is this a wilily waving contest on this site? if no ti would imagine it would be the cosworth 306 that does the rallying as fastest mid range car off the line though to about 80 it has to be the mid engined rallycross car that has done the rounds for years. mid range and handling must be one of the works maxis.and if there has been a drag car built (proper one ) top end would probably lye with that. all depends on the gearing and the way it has been built and for what. on this site i would say one of the btcc cars has to be the fastest . I know the high boost s/c cars have a lot of bhp but they are pretty tame compared to the BTCC power delivery ________________________________________ puglessPhase 1 GTI 6 1996-1997 Subaru Impreza GB270 2007-2008 rare spiderman comics same day international courier |

This is my best effort, 404.8 kW or 542 BHP (481 BHP @ the wheels)The dyno had to run in kW, the scale on the graph couldn't go high enough in BHP As others have said, it was de-tuned in the interests of reliability. ________________________________________ Contact Details:rich@lynxpowerengineering.co.uk 07732 822546 |

Lol thought id put it up now as you have prob been up all night Not been up all night, I had a great sleep. Yes, it would appear I do own the most powerful road going 306 here, as Rich says he did have 542bhp but it wasn't reliable enough. What we have proved is that circa 450bhp seems to be bullet proof, which is a great credit to Rich, Nick and Wayne. I worked it out the other day, my current engine which runs the 454bhp has covered 8795.5 miles since build and is still going strong, having never missed a beat. When Andy's is mapped up I believe he is going for somewhere around the 500bhp, which means I will lose this "title" but I've still had so much fun with this car and will continue to do so when I decide to bring it back out of hibernation. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

seem to remember it having hew land stickers on it which i assume was the gearbox and centre diff, can't see much change out of 45k from those 2 items, think it still holds its own even up against the fiestas and citroens of todays era in rally cross . always seems to launch well i think it is the handling that lets it down ________________________________________ puglessPhase 1 GTI 6 1996-1997 Subaru Impreza GB270 2007-2008 rare spiderman comics same day international courier |

That Will Gollop car is hardly a 306 though is it?! Its just a space frame with a 306 shell on it, same as that v6 rally car. Fastest is very subjective too. None of the Mega high boost cars would get close to a 250bhp btcc car round a track, you could drop a high boost engine into a btcc car but you'd have Mega problems controlling Tyre and brake temps to the point where it'd be undriveable. Then the 306 Maxis would beat everything on a rally stage, and would give the btcc cars a good run for there money on track! Its relatively easy to makes car fast in a straight line, but to make them fast around corners too is a lot more difficult! ________________________________________ Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 1Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 2 Lap of the 'ring |

Don't forget Robins car (Binnioz), he had over 450bhp when he ran his water/methanol injection kit, the Gti6 has never been about 0-60 times not matter what power it has, once it's rolling is where its at ________________________________________ Team Supercharged Gti-6™ |
