Well, there is a big difference. Try rolling along in your car without the engine running and then pressing the brakes. It will be working fine as i imagine at the moment you are taking a vacuum line from the inlet manifold, im not sure it will work when the manifold is pressurised though? Why do these engines have a pump? Having a vacuum pump helps to maintain vacuum along all the use of the engine.The gti6 has two vacuum sources, wich is better for the servo and master cylinder, letting them do their job only. In my 306, after installing the big brake kit, i've switch off the inlet manifold vacuum pick up, so that the pedal could be more hard and less sensitive. It was good for me because, with all the vacuum on, braking with control on track conditions, was a bit complicated. Now i only use the vacuum pump as source, and i'm aproving that. ________________________________________ What is a hybrid?Honda engine...Ford brakes...Peugeot chassis...Vauxhall steering... |

Pump just makes the servo effect more consistant under all conditions tbh.________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. Half cages right up to complete custom spaceframes - MSA/FIA spec, CDS, ROPT, T45, etc - PM meEmail me! Custom-made polybushes available - need an odd size or fitment? - anything from batch work to one-off pieces. |
