my gear stick has just gone loose, the gear box seems to be working as I can drive the car, I think it could be the linkages? any idea on how much this might cost to fix as I dont want to get ripped off at my local garage ________________________________________ stevenage black gti 6, 198bhp |

Ur asking how much it might cost but yet you dont know what it is. If its a gear linkage then i would expect a garage to charge you an hours labour + the linkage its self. If it still changes gear fine then dont worry ________________________________________ cherry p1.....SOLD (regreting this)blaze p2.....why did i buy this SOLD Black p3 |

You need to look inside the engine bay, down behind the gearbox. You will see 3 rods each with "ball" cup ends.Make sure these are all attached to their corresponding "ball". If they are, and as far as I can make out you can get every gear so they should be, then my guess is they could be somewhat worn. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Sounds like the rubber ball may have fallen off of the subrame swivel bracket, or 1 of the small linkages as the other guys mentioned.________________________________________ N/A XU10J4RS = 302.1 bhp / 184.2 lb.ftTurbo XU10J4RS = 500.2 bhp / 443 lb.ft USC 2011 Double Class winners N/A FWD 0-60 winners at TRAX 2011 Developers, stockists and installers of superior upgrades for the Peugeot 306 GTi6 & Rallye, including:- *NEW!!!!! 4.8:1 final drive for BE3/6 *BBM Group N engine mounts *Cat Cams and vernier pulleys *Emerald ECU's *Jenvey throttle bodies *Uprated gear linkages and short shifts *Quaife & Tran-X LSD's for BE3/6 *Tar-Ox brake discs and Ferodo DS2500 pads *Solid rear beam mounts *21-25mm torsion bars *25mm rear anti roll bars |

Quick one... Here's a photo of mine... When I reach down and give that big shaft from the gearstick a shake it moves up/down about 80mm.. Not good I take it! What s**t do I need to replace? Is there supposed to be a rubber bush in that eyelet? |

What length have you got yours set to? Didn't measure it soz The pivot point is higher on the quickshift, there is a patterned part on the gearstick where the plastic ball sits that you need to take off,I've set mine so the patterned part is just above the lower collar on the quickshift. The only downside to the quickshift is sorting out the lift up reverse cable holder I had to cut mine with a hacksaw blade to remove it off gearstick, you then need to use a small hose clip to hold it back in place on the gearstick,I also found after doing this the lift up reverse collar was not returning back down on its own,so I had to file some off the cable holder to allow it to return Important that it does return, otherwise you could select reverse when going forwards! ________________________________________ Red GTB1756 powered Fabia VRS daily driver,LBSC Gti6 eater........Mac1 ZR R1 kit car build in progress. |

you might be able to use the cable holder off a 205, its secured by a roll pin.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |
