The engine mounts are now being designed, so they can be laser cutted. The gearbox mount will be very similar to the one i had on the gti6 engine. This week there will be some more detailed photos of that. The driveshafts are going to be made from scratch, only using the gearbox cv joints from the civic and on the wheel side, i'll use the peugeot one. ________________________________________ What is a hybrid?Honda engine...Ford brakes...Peugeot chassis...Vauxhall steering... |

The material part is not that hard or difficult, but the cost of the driveshafts is the main one.Eletronics/ECU and etc is the hardest part for me. ________________________________________ What is a hybrid?Honda engine...Ford brakes...Peugeot chassis...Vauxhall steering... |

i looked into fitting a B203 saab turbo lump given its cheapness, outright tunability and strength, icontacted a couple of driveshaft specialists and they quoted between £4-500 to make me a pair, although one of the companies said if it was a low torque engine then they could've 'cut and shut' the 2 different shafts for a lot less |

The material and technics that we're gonna use, are the same as the TT/Offroad vehicles use...so we don't expect them to break easily. My budget for 4 driveshafts(2 for spares) is way less than 500£, but it's a home made fabrication, just like most of the parts you see on this project.________________________________________ What is a hybrid?Honda engine...Ford brakes...Peugeot chassis...Vauxhall steering... |

The updates are only a few...The original gearbox linkage must be changed, because the new engine uses a cable system, so the subframe part of it just disapeared. Standard condition... Shaved version... The original cambelt side base for the engine mount must be off...off it goes!! After some more measuring, some parts just came along to mess with us... ________________________________________ What is a hybrid?Honda engine...Ford brakes...Peugeot chassis...Vauxhall steering... |

There's no space at all between the gearbox and the subframe...right on the zone of the steering linkage (LHD), but that's not a problem, because the engine will be fitted with metal engine mounts, wich do not allow any kind of movement.I will take some pictures of that detail. In my case, there's another detail that is helping put the driveshafts aligned properly with the engine...i'm making a wishbone part wich gives me a lot more caster than the standard one. That detail helps the engine to stay a little more to front of the car, and it's not necessary to cut the subframe. The center of the engine is on the exact spot as the xu10j4rs, not messing with weight distribution in the wrong way. ________________________________________ What is a hybrid?Honda engine...Ford brakes...Peugeot chassis...Vauxhall steering... |

They will stay completly aligned with the gearbox exits...wich even on the civic isn't possible, because they work pointing backwards.________________________________________ What is a hybrid?Honda engine...Ford brakes...Peugeot chassis...Vauxhall steering... |

how did you measure them? when i looked into a custom conversion i planned to fit dampers without springs then move suspension through its full travel whilst measuring optimal shaft length |

On it's shortest position, it should be able to move in and out a little bit. The spring inside the cv joint has too has to work.________________________________________ What is a hybrid?Honda engine...Ford brakes...Peugeot chassis...Vauxhall steering... |

A few more hours were passed around the car, this time on Overhaulin mode. I'm preparing the bodyshell to be stitch welded...and roll next, i hope!! Ground Zero...again!! g Gearbox vs subframe Gearbox vs steering rack...this one is going to loose the rear shock due to the electric power steering. Enough space for the engine to work... Driveshaft alignment...just like the standard one!! First upgrade... ________________________________________ What is a hybrid?Honda engine...Ford brakes...Peugeot chassis...Vauxhall steering... |

Simon, I haven't decide yet what induction to use, but will not certainly be one of those fashion honda jdm like tegiwa or groupe m...i don´t have that kind of money, or at least the will of honda owner's. lololIT will be an improved version of my first version, but this time using aluminium or carbon fiber for the tube. T99PUG, it's almost touching, but that's not a problem because the engine will use 100% rigid mounts... If there was any contact, the hamer would take care of the problem. lol ________________________________________ What is a hybrid?Honda engine...Ford brakes...Peugeot chassis...Vauxhall steering... |

Last stage was this......now without this, ...ends up like this!! Dashboard, fuse box and the enormous wiring behind it...all gone, along with their 5kgs of extra weight. More news from this part for soon. Another goodie for the S16K...this one counts enough rpm!! ________________________________________ What is a hybrid?Honda engine...Ford brakes...Peugeot chassis...Vauxhall steering... |
