Does anybody know if I can get a downloadable programme which allows me to connect my laptop to my car....It has to be free as the car is going to be sold and I would like to clear a warning light so I don't want to spend anything just for a one time connection?

Doesn't work like that LOL All the warnings are on the same display and flash in a sequence. When all is well it flashes "OK" so there is no way of cheating.

Just try finding someone local with vcds(vagcom) the software is free but you have to buy the cable which is expensive!

I wouldnt have the foggiest idea how, and i think the software we have will only work with the genuine cable, ross-tech wouldnt design software that doesnt work with the genuine cable would they?! Bare in mind I think the cable costs about £300ish.

Indeed, a bunch of wires that change the tone of the horn on the car and change the locking sequence and all handy things like that, apparently a house with 2 vag cars cant possibly survive without it Roll eyes LOL
