These engines do respond well to a induction kit being added, quite a one off noise compared to fitting the same kit onto another car

i always had K&N fitted when owning 6 and Rallye, be careful of large puddles though!!, the location is shit !

The standard airbox on most cars is designed to dampen out the sound of the engine. Most engines will get louder with an induction kit. Ours get particularly loud because of the cast alloy inlet manifold.

You should try it with a decent exhaust and de-cat. Devil

Jap NA engines make an awesome induction noise when fitted with an induction kit - especially those fitted with variable lift and cam timingWhistle.

Totally irrelevant to the OP's question thoLaugh my ass off

Have you left the resonator box in under the manifold?

Mines removed and I think it loses the distinct sound.

I run the standard set up minus the small resonator box on the side of the main box, I then sealed the hole and stuck a green cotton filter in place of the original filter.

I then modified the snorkel and made it completely air tight where the feed meets the box and this has made it roar nicely. She sucks an epic amount of air Devil

'6 Engine + Induction kit in an enclosed place (e.g. tunnel/multi-story car park/Bath City Centre), EPIC!
