Calling all GoPro owners,

Ive ordered a GoPro Motorsports Hero off the tinterweb which will be arriving tomorrow. I have a question

Those of you that have them and do trackdays, how do you mount it in car?
I know it has to be secure, no suction mounts etc. Is the mounting hardware that comes with it sufficient?

I had a vBox at one point, ended up butchering one of the many brackets it had and screwing it directly into the inside of one of the A-pillars. It was going *nowhere* Yes

Oooh. Good choice. I may just do that. Seen as ClubMSV won't let you use suction or adhesive mounts that may be the way forward.

Very few places will let you have suction mounts any more tbh, majority of the trackdays I've done in the last year specifically disallow them now.

Yeah I know. Which is a pain, but I understand why. I certainly wouldn't want a camera and mount hitting me in the face during a crash. Imagine the footage though! Lol

Have you got a cage? If so surely best way is to have a special plate welded between the cross section of the cage and mount the camera on that.....

Also the most expensive way i bet though!

Too much movement in the seats, plus a nightmare if you have The Hamburglar in the passenger seat, really restricts what the camera can see.

Don't have a cage or standard seats. Buckets with harness holes. With a cage no problem, you can get a roll cage clamp. I think I'll just screw it on somewhere. The car is held together by blu tack and cable ties so a screwed in camera mount will probably be the most secure thing on there.

Could even help hold the car together.

It is mate. Its had a few changes. Noticied a few things that I didnt know about when I bought it (you probably didnt know either) like its had a whole new nearside rear quarter at some point. lol

Car is going well though, no problems bar a knackered battery.

Nah I had no idea about that, how did you find that out? The engine should still be running sweet taking into account the money they previous owner spent on it! Have you got any pics of it as it is now?

When I stripped it, and took all the sound deadening out of the rear quarters you could see the difference in the panels. The one that was replaced is black on the inside the other red. And the black one has a Peugeot sticker with part number still on it. Its a damn good repair though, you would never tell the difference, and must of been done early on in its life.

No pics at the moment, but its going to Snetterton next month, ill be sure to get plenty then.
