Well a main access road to my estate ( a b-road) has been shut for a week due to a pipe burst, it's now reopened and I was driving down it and saw a sign saying ramp, thinking this was just your usual ramp due to a change in surface since the work was just finished I slowed to around 50mph as the sign was 30ft at the very most away from the ramp, and they had only installed a speed bump!, no arrows to highlight it as usual , there's a farm on one side and a farmhouse on the other side so I can only assume that's why it's been installed and I've now got a crazy knocking from the front end, surely they can't put a speed bump there can they without any warning? It's a 1/2 mile straight road with no lighting whatsoever, to say I'm unhappy is an understatement |

i can understand your frustration, i know how annoyed i get when i hit potholes or poorly marked speed bumps. of which i have both at the end of my street too, soon have to leave my 6 at the end of the road i think.in your case they did put up a sign, albeit an incorrect one but atleast it was some warning. i think you may have a case against them but could be difficult to prove that it was the bump that caused the damage? just my opinion, i have no actual knowledge on this kind of thing ________________________________________ supercharged China gti6 - Thu 16th Sep 1999 - sold2010 megane rs250 |

I'll have a google about it, thing is that the kind of speedbump it is is bad enough on a 30 road and I would slow right down to well less than 30, let alone hitting it at 60! I suppose here was a sign even though a wrong one but expecting people to slam on their brakes for a temporary sign half wedged in a bus within 30 feet is a joke. |

Also to be legal they need to be marked with dragon teeth triangles. Also i think they can only be installed in 30mph zones so hit the council with a damage letter. ________________________________________ 306 less for first time in nearly 7 years. Hang on....is this B road national speed limit? Before the ramp and sign is there no other indication of speed reduction, streetworks, men at work signs, "slow" signs, cones or anything else that should alert you to a potential obstruction ahead? If it's literally a speed ramp in a 60mph limit with only one sign next to it then that sounds very strange as these are usually to slow you down to circa 10mph Get some photos up and I'll have a look as I'm streetworks qualified. Something doesn't add up here as the council is usually overly fussy about this kind of thing. ________________________________________ Less than 24 hours to go! |

Basically your driving down the road (it was at night with no lighting whatsoever) you see a temporary pop up ramp sign, then oh sh!t there's no slow markings on the road, it looks like they are trying to slow that stretch of road down by the farm then forgot to do anything, it's currently a nation speed limit |

There's something very irregular about that, get plenty of pictures of the area and the road leading up to it to prove there are no signs etc and then bang in a claim.________________________________________ Less than 24 hours to go! |

Unlikely to be a dead AST as they take a lot of abuse in rally cars, you can get them rebuilt by Curtis fairly cheaply anyway.________________________________________ Nothing to see here |
