Hey guys, not seen many people post about using redex and stuff. Just wondering does it actualy make much of a difference? Just stuck some in my car before i filled it up. Hoping to see a change.

Also, another question i'm not very good with cars; just learning the basics and stuff but my car is overheating within 10mins of driving it, normal gear changes etc. There is coolant in the radiator bottle and the fan kicks in etc.. But the radiator is cold? I'v got a slight oil leak from somewhere but i'll just put a bit of kseal in and hope it fixes it too. lol. Anyone know what might be the problem with the car? Maybe just a dodgy thermostat the engine itself seems warm when driving just it doesn't feel like it's at 130degrees like the temp gauge says it is.

Thanks in advanced Big grin

Just answered your own question there I'd say. Bt if your cars been running at 130 degrees I'd say your HG will soon be if not already toast. Yes

What's a Hg? Lol. And you also think it's the thermostat? Nothing to do with the rad?

Could be a blocked rad but more than likely a stuck thermostat. Only about a tenner to sort. HG is Head Gasket.

f*ck the redex you need to check your fans kick in and it might be an idea to get the thermostat done.
If it gets hot again POP the bonnet and pull the wire from the green sensor to the right side of the engine, this way the fans will kick in and sort it..
Temporarily obviously, personally I had the same issue once and I bought three new temp sensors on the stat and it hasn't done it in 5k.

Good luck with that. Personally I'd opt for the brown one and rather than pulling the wire from it I'd just unclip the connector.

Sounds more like an air lock. Bleed the coolant system at the rad, the thermostat housing and at the pipe to the heater matrix.

This happened to me last week

I poured some in old work pizza car ~1997 and the lid fell in by mistake as I opened it. Whoops. When the fuel got low you could hear it moving around in the tank.

No I was informed it was go faster juice. I did think that drinking it would've been better. It was a fuel additive iirc so tank or open some engine bit and pour in there was other option. I'm sure they do make other products relating to radiators and associated problems but I just go the egg white route. Shop is closer than motor factors so eggs win. Preferably a Carls hen egg ftw, that would fix anything and increase bhp and mpg.

I'd ordered a pizza and wanted it delivered quicker.

as above , undo the screw at the thermostat housing and wait for water to bleed out , again the one on the heater pipe its just plastic and fragile!
