What I Actually wanted to know was how much power can they be remapped to as standard? All cars can go more as they are, I took my other car up by nearly an extra 50bhp and I didnt change a thing and its running perfectly fine. So just wanted to know what the pug is capable of before you have to change bits? |

Sorry for the sarcasm A remap sees almost no gains at all so it's a waste of money. To get extra power you have to go down the cam route or throttle body stuff, all expensive for small gains, between 170 - 190bhp for circa £2k roughly. Big gains come from supercharging which is about £3-4k, should see 250bhp. ________________________________________ Less than 24 hours to go! |

I know, these cars are pretty good as standard though. Good brakes and fresh suspension is the best way to spend money on these cars. ________________________________________ Less than 24 hours to go! |

nothing spectacular as far as modern deisels go, theres good gains to be had on them all with a remap. ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

I would still sooner save the £250 and avoid the unimaginable tedium of discussing, or indeed asking for, a remap. ________________________________________ You feed beefburgers to swans. I may have been speeding Mr Policeman but [a] I live for the 306 and [b] did you see that dog? omfg |

i hate to say it but not a lot is to be gained without serious money. the best you can expect with a rolling road remap on any standard n/a engine is maybe one or two bhp and a better power and torque curve. for the price its hardly worth it. i might be being a bit personal here but if the cars for your wife i thought you'd prefer it to be safer rather than faster? things like better tyres, brakes and the general condition of the vehicle. then again i was in a rather nasty crash in my beloved gti recently. despite the vehicle being in near perfect condition the w*nkers lorry was unavoidable (he made sure ) car was a right off but im ok the 306 has one of the highest second hand n-cap saftey ratings out there. i think what im trying to say is. does it really need to go any faster? ________________________________________ the world is changed by people in sheds |

I'm petrified whenever my wife drives the 6 as she likes to get me back In standard form she will have more than enough muscle to play with. ________________________________________ Aka ManstonerAka Clio dumper Aka PrinceofPeugeot Aka Decat raspberrys |

My wife used to own an Evo 4 and was running just over 300bhp she's a petrol head speed freak and one of the only women drivers i feel safe with. :-)Plus working in Germany we got the ring over here and the autobahn so lots of places to speed. |

Shouldnt need to spend much anyway cause my wifes Uncle is a mechanic and a 406 2.2 sri engine will fit nicely for 250bhp and is much cheaper than supper charging it. :-) |

Well f*ck me, all money I've spent and all I needed was a 406 engine from down scrapyard with a few mods done to it. ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

there's no such thing as cheap where car tuning is concerned not in the longrun anyway, deisels do respond very well to a remap, I have one and it's so enjoyable to drive, pulls effortlessly with all the torque but I do think it feels much faster than it actually is.
