I think so, they were sourced through a guy on the 106 Rallye register, I believe they are the same source that Anthony uses and where 205parts used to get theirs.
Can't grumble at the price really, very nicely finished but that's about all I know, could measure the wheel rate I suppose and see if they measure up but I don't have any way to check the hardness or whether they were heat treated properly.
Either Chris Penrose is being fleeced by his supplier, or there's something quite different in the material or process spec, or that its a matter of scales where a large company uses more of this material and does more heat treating, I know Chris has supplied Special Tuning and Shenpar, possibly AB as well.
Quite a difference though, £220 to £350, though Chris does have his powdercoated and that is a delivered price unlike the others (the cheaper ones were £180 till recently)
has anyone got a straight answer from "performance Torsion" as to the material and processes?
this is what chris said when someone on thew 205 forum was having issues with "soft" torsion bars
quote:One thing you can do is next time you have the bars out of the beam, take them to a company that is a heat treatment specialist and just ask them to measure the actual hardness on there Rockwell m/c you should have a reading of 40 'Rockwell C' any less then you might as well chuck them in the bin.
Something else you can also do but might be a little trickier is take them to a metalurgist company and ask them to identify what material your bars are made from, they should be made from EN47.
turned out the bars in question were only coming up to 30 on the rockwell rating
