Easier to just steal yours tbh. I've got other stuff on which deserves my attention more.

So this thread went off thread again. I think admin enforce a gti drivers policy where you need a certain amount of posts before you can advertise. I think part of the reason prices of 6's and rallyes are crashing as newbies are turninv up hourly advertising dust bin 306s at bin bag prices and other newbies to buy their crap thinking they are reputable because the add is on the best 306 website available. The site is turning into gum tree imo. Put controls on the site and problems are over.

In order to keep any forum good, you need regular moderation. Simple as. I know they're trying to get some more onboard, but ironically it seems to have gone nowhere as there are no moderators to decide on the new ones.

A few of us used to have a go at people when they signed up and used shitty spelling or took the p*ss, or just came here to sell stuff. People started having a go at us for it (and quite frankly I have other things to worry about in real life at the moment) so generally people don't bother anymore.

So no moderators + no people who like to feel important doing their job for them = forum in a state, shocking.

This is hactually a good idea, however the number of posts will have to be quite high so that people dont just spam to get their post count high enough to sell a car. If its quite high then hopefully they will think its way too much effort and wont spam. Thats if people are generally as lazy as I am.

£5 is bloody cheap compared to most forums, and if it helps keep cretins out then that's just fine!

True, but it clearly doesn't. Admins keep the cretins out, and there are none. Cretins can have £5 too, you know.

It certainly hasn't helped, I think it's also that people who *have* paid on the promise of fewer idiots and trolls have actually been delivered the opposite having had their money taken.

Before it was a case of "well you pay nothing, expect nothing". Since people are now paying customers it seems Ash and co are less interested than ever.

Quite strange really cause mk5golfgti.co.uk is free and since i've been on it there hasnt been any spam, but maybe it would be worth what they do (I dont think there is enough members to commit on here though) There is a mod for each section

It's because the spamming and bo***cks isn't down to the money, it's down to having no mods. Two different issues, it's just that one makes people resent the other more.
