Not sure how it works on a '6, but generally the pipe that goes to the inlet should instead go to a catch tank. The hole on the inlet should be blocked. I could be wrong though. |

The pipe going to the inlet has a catch can fitted between the inlet and wherever it comes from. You can't just put a can on the end of it and block off the inlet, as you still need the breather system working. A catch can just catches the heavier oil vapours instead of feeding them back through the engine. ________________________________________ Ph1 306 GTi 6 | RX8 231 S1 | YBR 125 Cafe Racer | MT-03 660 |

I prefer to go from the catch tank to a breather filter rather than back into the inlet. |

It depends on the engines. Some depend on the vacuum from the inlet to aid the breather system, and with a catch tank there you'll not be drawing in any oil vapours any more, so save upsetting the balance of things I'd keep it as stock as possible. I know most road-based race engines keep a feed to the inlet because at high RPM the vacuum aids the breather system. The engine in our Formula Renault is like this and we were advised not to change it.________________________________________ Ph1 306 GTi 6 | RX8 231 S1 | YBR 125 Cafe Racer | MT-03 660 |

... because catch tanks and breather systems are exclusive to the '6/rallye... ________________________________________ Ph1 306 GTi 6 | RX8 231 S1 | YBR 125 Cafe Racer | MT-03 660 |
