i have a 08 diesel mini which is pretty nippy, had it about 6 months and love it apart from shopping days when it is a squeeze 50 mpg fook all insurance and for a turbo diesel it aint a lot slower than the cooper s, when i get bored i may get a clubman s. but as far as cars go it is the mutts and cant remember enjoying a car so much since i passed my test. the run flats are a bit bangy and it twitches around like a nutter when you rag it but all part of the mini experience. ________________________________________ puglessPhase 1 GTI 6 1996-1997 Subaru Impreza GB270 2007-2008 rare spiderman comics same day international courier |

the turbo'd ones are the same engines/blocks you find in the THP models of 207 and I cant remember the exact common engine failure but it was something along the lines of them losing their timing or something because a bolt was missing from many engines or something?I can't believe the "new" mini was launched all those years ago! ________________________________________ '13 208 Gti Bianca White, '99 Bianca 306 Rallye, '92 309 Goodwood GTi 5dr, '92 Miami Blue 309 GTi 3dr. |

Right. Just been to see one.On 38K / 03 reg. Its pretty much immaculate, looks to have been well looked after and is quite well specced. A/C, xenons, half leather CD changer etc. The only thing we didnt like was that the service book only has 3 stamps. There was one at 11K in 2006 (so 3 years old) at BMW One at 23K in 2009 at BMW and just had a full service at 38K. Looking at the book it didnt specify an interval and it seems that the car tells you when it needs servicing based on how its driven. Assuming the 2 previous lady owners haven't been giving it a hard time is it possible that its not needed a service for 3 years at a time? I thought even with modern fully synth oils it was a minimum of 2 years between changes. We are going back for a test drive tomorrow i think. ________________________________________ Cherry Red 306 HDIChampionship White Integra DC5 Type R |

The warranty issue on the turbo engines was the timing chain rattling its nuts off. That car, blue and orange wheels, I did a fair bit of work on that myself and knew Vicky from ym time at Lohen. |

Replied! They are loosely based on mileage (service intervals). The newer ones are worse, they're totally based on usage. Can't remember the official name for it! But yeah it will just flash up when it wants something! |

Well we are picking it up on Thursday.I test drove it and though it was great (and I've always hated them) Not quite as quick as the Clio but the power delivery was a lot better, it sounds ace and the gearbox in it felt great. ________________________________________ Cherry Red 306 HDIChampionship White Integra DC5 Type R |

Got someone coming to look at it tomorrow. I've dropped the price on pistonheads to get a quicker sale. We are swapping the insurance onto the mini so of it'll be goin in mums garage till I sell it. It's a nice car but I just haven't really gelled with it even tho it does look awesome. I'll probably save some cash not having my own car for a while too.________________________________________ Cherry Red 306 HDIChampionship White Integra DC5 Type R |
