hi, just fitted one of these to my high boost car ready for the mapping session.

Ive set it to P04 (narrowband mode) and wired this output into the green wire of the OE lambda plug.

The car ran pretty well with the OE old lambda in place but now it runs very sketchy indeed and is showing very high numbers 17 or off the scale altogether.

Just wondering why this could be. I unpluggled the battery to do the wiring up so i guess this will reset the ECU. seems to me like the narrowband 0-5v output is not the same as standard. What do you guys think??

For now i think ill put the standard one back in untill i get to chipwizards.

I think that if you can afford to high boost s/c a 306 you can afford the £5 for membership that allows you to post in the relevent sections of the forums instead of clogging up the "General" section just like the rest of the skin flint tight kents Wink

As above, but will add that I also have an AEM guage in my SC6 and the readings it gives are way out too. Lower than actual at low load/rpm and higher than actual at high load/rpm. (Checked against a calibrated laboratory quality lambda probe on a rolling road)
Operator told me I was wasting my time trying to sort it unless I was using a high quality NGK sensor as he saw guages of this type and others giving false reading running off a Bosch sensor.

Buy a f*ckin membership though as advice like this should be in the correct section so other paying members can benefit from it.

so the NGK sensor is ok dave and would cure the problem or what??

how shit is that though. you spend 150 on a wideband that does a worse job than OE sensor. Thumbs down

Sorry guys gives you something to talk about though doesnt it.

Not a fan of the new site so doubt it will get my £5 yet.

After doing more research it seems that wideband is 0-5v and narrowband 0-1v so what is going on with the AEM on our cars how can it feed the stock ECU with the correct information??? (goi ng off mabs FAQ where you hit the green wire from the engine harness). presumably this is correct Roll eyes

So you don't like the new site, so won't pay £5. But you will continue to ask questions?

In my opinion, if you get the answer you are looking for at least once, that is alone worth the £5 Yes

The bosch sensor is the only sensor calibrated to use with the AEM wideband.

Its analog output is 0-5v which will not feed our ECU as it works with 0-1v lean or rich basically.

So it seems it needs to be used in addition to the OE lambda on our cars not as a replacement to feed the standard ECU like he seems to claim.

it seems after all the p04 setting simluates 0-1 v but it still is totally looking like a bad idea to feed the ecu off this gauge.

It also seems i couldnt simply give a f*ck about your lambda sensor reading as you arent interested in contrubuting to the forum.

All I'm going on is what I'm told, the RR operator said he looks at lots of AFR guages and sees an awful lot of discrepancies. This may be down to the electrical hook up, the position of the sensor in the exhaust, or leaks/damage to the exhaust allowing air into the system before hitting the sensor or combinations of all three. However I ignore my sensor now as all it does is give off false warnings. I would reccommend anyone who fits one to go along and have it checked on a RR to see if it's any use or just giving off totally random readings you will be busy ignoring if an actual serious fault occurs.

it's ok - admin will move it to the correct section whereby he can't reply, or like the For Sale sections and they are automatically locked so a complete waste of time moving them Doh
