At present I am only testing the water on this sale, but ideally it needs to go as it's sat doing nowt...

Bottom End with all new parts used

New big end bearings
Cast Iron Block re-bored to 88mm
Forged 88mm Pistons
Lightened and balanced 88mm Crank.
Lightend and balanced flywheel
Trap door sump baffle

I have a folder full of the receipts for the engine build.

I spent a lot of money on a complete engine package which worked fine for 3-4 weeks, but after about 750 miles I noticed pressurised water and dumped the oil, to find a very milky bottom end. We then assumed the head gasket had failed, spent £230 getting headwork sorted, £100 for a new 88mm gasket and a further £200 on bits and bobs... Started her up and she ran fine. However a few weeks later and the same issues has shown their selves... same cylinder.

After speaking at length with Sandy he has suggested its possible the bottom end has suffered from porosity (its broke). When Sandy had a look at the map (as took a standard GTI6 to him on old ECU) he said (without being rude) it was not the 'best' of maps.

Although there is a possibility that nothing is wrong with the bottom end and it may be an undetected fault elsewhere, I am selling this as in need of a new rebored block. You can simply transfer over all the bits inc bearings from one block to another.

I will take all genuine interest seriously, but as it stands I wont split bits and bobs. I can also include 467cc injectors which have been serviced and cleaned twice.

I have paperwork to back up everything if you have any doubt, any questions please just ask.

Also, this engine along with a set of mild cams and mi16 head made 218bhp but 174ftlb

Im sorry I forgot my password to login via work today so had to wait until I returned home.

Just the bottom end with everything as it is, I would like to see about £575.

For £625 ill include a Cometic Headgasket which has seen 5 minutes used. still currently fitted as engine is still complete unit.

I hope this doesnt sound stupid, but the entire package I bought owed me £3200. Im sure you'll appreciate that the bottom end needs a new block, which can be had for free pretty easily and then its the price on a rebore (circa £120).

I am stripping the engine into bits to sell so if you wanted to buy the head and exhaust as a package i can send more info on them too, I would look for £1250 as a complete engine package.

About the porosity, were the cylinders checked for cracks when the head was off? Just I've had 2 blocks bored to 87mm now and they have both cracked, one for no apparent reason, (the other because a valve head bounced about)... Not sure if thats common or not but might be worth checking....

It was something which we didnt look at (evidently) in enough detail, litterally a glance to see if we could see a hole!

I have been told this is a bit over the price of where it should be. Also, due to personal injury could do with this being taken out of the way asap.

So as a revised price, this is now £400.

That will be for the new bearings, 88mm crank, rods and 88mm pistons. Treat the block as scrap, but it can go with the crank and pistons intact if required.
