I got mine from GSF for less than £20 iirc, and it's been fine. There's an FAQ on here, but basically it's a piece of p*ss if you don't have air con, slightly more complicated if you do, but either way it's a DIY job.

i did mine on my other 306, no aircon or any shite in the bay so it is literally a 1 minute job. i cannot remember the clutch assembly, i'm guessing the string is to stop the white clip keep coming out of the bulkhead when you're trying to fit it, and also to pull it into the footwell from the outside. i will just be cutting the old cable off, the white clip exploded big time. i found a few pieces of it in the footwell and on my shoe

Yeah the string is just a pull-through as it's a pain lining it up with the hole in the bulkhead otherwise, can't remember the details but did it myself in about five minutes.

One minute might be a bit optimistic Wink

i found it helped to grease the grommet up that locates in the bulkhead. Helps it slip passed the aircon pipes etc.

Ah, if you've got literally nothing in the car then maybe.

I want to see a video as proof.

yeah completely empty, nothing in the footwells etc or anything, i love it. i remember offering it up and it went in first time and i was like Erm? Unsure surely it can't be done?? yep it was fine. happy days

cheeky f*cker the engine is in!

the gti6 with aircon looks fun. £29+ vat for the cable from Andrew Page, picking it up after work. going to get it done tonight so i can get my other 306 MOT'd tomorrow for the new owner Sad

FML. then again my gti6 has been costless completely since jan 2010. not spent a penny on it bar tax+mot+ a tyre

That's probably what made him think it needed a new clutch cable.

"Hmm, this pedal seems awfully light, cable must've gone"

Mine's been locked away for the winter now - locking wheel nuts on, car cover over, battery removed, looking forward to finding a pile of old rusty shit in the new year.

Yup Yes

Try rotating the engine through 180 degrees, might reach that way.
