Two weeks ago, I had similar symptoms like you and I assumed it was the clutch cable too, but it was infact the clutch folk that's snapped into two pieces along with a faulty release bearing inside the clutch. Crazy

So a total clutch overhaul(upper/lower guide bushes, clutch fork kit, clutch cable, transmission oil and new Valeo clutch) and a sizeable fortune was yet again spent on my Rallye.

Aside from moaning of shoving more money into my money pit, I have to say the car is now running ever so sweetly. Big grin

can't get over how light my clutch is with the new cable, nearly smashed my foot through the footwell!

Common misconception. What's actually happened is your left leg has just become more hench, so you don't notice the 300psi of pressure you're using to change gear.

i wonder why that block on the end can't be made of something better than plastic. i was going to try and protect it a bit, maybe by putting a small metal offcut in there shaped to the block Unsure
