Officially it's 2.1 litres, however it's almost impossible to get all of the old oil out with the 'box still on the car.So 2 litres will be fine. |

I asked Pug how much to put in it when I did mine - the answer they gave me was to put 2 litres in it, and they sold me one 2 litre bottle of oil. There will be at least 100ml of oil clinging to the inside of the gearbox after draining what you can of the old oil anyway. ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |

bit of a thread revival,im planning on servicing my car this coming week, bought all the bits needed today. went to pug (arnold clark) in inverness and asked for total transmission bv 75w 80 but he said they didnt have, and gave me 2 x 1L bottles of MOBIL ATF 4HP20 AL4 and that it would be fine. after searching it online its for automatic transmission (which i now know thats what ATF stands for) nothing on it says its 75w80. and it cost me 24 quid for the two bottles. should i take it back and try get the proper stuff again? as im assuming this is not right for the 6 ________________________________________ 1997 blaze GTI-6 bought january '11 £800 Spend to date on parts £827.88 |

Yep, 2l of BV 75w80 is what you want. Best stuff for the gearbox as well IMO, over any of the other brands out there. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Pug gearbox oil is the one thing I would say that you cannot improve upon by moving to an aftermarket product...just my opinion but its one I strongly believe in. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

don't forget that esso and shell have been PSA's oil partners in the past, so their products will do the job as well, but it must be the correct grade.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

When i purchased my car i noticed it crunched going in to 2nd at high rpm and it felt terrible when cold. So i changed it for comma ep 75/80 and it improved it slightly but i still wasn't happy to the point that i even considered having the 1st and 2nd gear hub replaced. I recently had my flywheel fitted and STUWEE off of here said he'd use the pug stuff BV 75/80, anyway the BV stuff went in and as if by magic the crunch in to 2nd gear has completely gone no matter how high the rpm. I was amazed i didn't think it'd make much difference. Moral of the story use the BV stuff every time ________________________________________ Team Nile 6Team: 40.2 MPG 5 x a 306 owner! currently abusing type r's in a town near you ™ I truely live for the 306 ® Build date: 29th October 1997 Wednesday's car midweek madness |

Sometimes "different from factory" doesn't necessarily equal "better". The trick is realising when it is actually better, and when it just isn't. But a lot of businesses make a lot of money doing just this. ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |
