Hi all, I understand on a wilwood calipers the fitting for the hose on the caliper is an npt thread. Do I need to use thread tape on them? And what should they be torqued up to? Also I have green stuff pads, are they any good or should I invest in something better and flog them? Cheers,Ed ________________________________________ team: Stealth |

standard ferodo premiers should suffice in those calipers! certainly over greens...no need for any thread compound, its a tapered thread. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

Ok cheers, so are they just nipped up? Obviously the thread only goes half way in due to the tapering, before you can no longer turn it by hand, but how far should it go beyond there?________________________________________ team: Stealth |

Just nip it up with a short spanner, if you 'Gorilla-Grip TM' it up you will snap something.________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. Wilwood fittings normally have a pre-applied sealant to seal the leak path on the thread root in case you get it a little wrong, but tbh, NPT fittings are more of a 'done by feel' than by torque, there's too many variables for an accurate torque figure. As daveyboy says, the best way is to just screw it in by hand and then nip it up with a short spanner so you can't strip the threads. And no, they're crap, I'll give you £50 for 'em, so long as you throw in the calipers ________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments.
