Was planning to get Uniroyal rainsports, but don't think they do them in the standard 195 55 15, do they? Heard good and bad things about Toyos. What are my other choices? It's always wet as feck here in Scotland so need tyres that are very good in the wet! Nothing too expensive though! |

Have a read through the winter tyre tests for wet ratingshttp://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/ Rainexperts are £75 fitted in 195/55/15 on blackcirles.com ________________________________________ Spanner Monkeys Monkey SpannerForum Search Clicky |

Just had my second set of Rainsport 2's fitted - excellent tyre in the wet and pretty decent in the dry as well. I had rain experts on inbetween the rainsports but wasnt overly impressed with them. Only downside is like you say they don't do them in 55's but at only £40 ish a corner from blackcircles they are well priced. ________________________________________ 1997 Black GTi6smithers205 at hotmail.com |

I rated the Rainsport 2's pretty highly when I had them on my cyclones. Did about 6k miles in them and plenty of life left, wet weather grip was great! No need for dry grip up here though Not sure what to stick on the Speedlines, probably chance it through Winter on the cheap budget crap on them already, grippy tyres next year and a set of steels for next Winter. Planned on having winter wheels this year but unemployment killed that idea! ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

rainsports are supposed to be awesome however i havent tried.I cant see any tyre being better than a pe2. Because they are so so good in all conditions. Transform the car imo ________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |

I am looking for a set for the cyclones I have for normal day to day stuff, and wet driving (my current wheels have R888's on). I had narrowed it down to: - Michelin PE2 £58 - Toyo T1R £38 - Rainsport 2 £40 Would you say that the PE2 was worth spending nearly an extra £20 per corner over the other 2? ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

yup I'd check what the longevity of the Rainsports are like, but the PE2 slightly outperformed them on grip. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

Wow where do you get PE2s for £58? The best I've found is a lot more than that. ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |

I have PE2's on one of my cars and Rainsport 2's on the other. If i could go back i wouldnt have bothered with the RS2's and got another set of PE2's, stupid penny pinching on my behalf which i really regret now. RS2 are impressive in the wet but i still prefer the PE2's. ________________________________________ Goldie the track car. |

I have used both 50 and 55 profile and found that I prefer the 50. Plus they are much cheaper as you have said prism7guy wrote: I have PE2's on one of my cars and Rainsport 2's on the other. Thanks Ste I was penny pinching too, but the vote seems to be for PE2's so I will most likely go for them. ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |
