(New wishbones was the easier option here I thought) Rear Beam (both sets) And check the top engine mount, and chock it if it has too much movement. Another one for all that, shocks, brakepads and tyres. If you still need to make it faster after that you arent driving it right. +1. Also make sure the engine is actually performing as intended. No point modding an engine that needs plugs, leads, hoses and other things replaced as these and other things degrade over time and affect performance. Old cars need plenty of money spent on them without needing to look for bling to put on. ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |

quote: [quote="jimbamboon" search for steam supercharger (no shit) im famous, lol theres no real quick or cheap way to make your engine gain bhp. anything including a k,n filter, decat etc.... will generaly do diddly squat on the bhp without a remap. (get some nice noises though) even with the remap your looking at minimal power gains and youll still be spending x amount for the pleasure! ive spent thousands just making mine reliable. no engine real engine mods make sure the cars worth spendong the money on first and do a good service/inspection yourself to see what needs to be done changed/fixed. if things need replacing decide if you want standard parts or uprated ones. ill lay down a list of thing ive done to keep you amused with. cold air filter decat(comgin soon) 205 1.9 gti wheel (good tyres) coilovers (lowered front and back 40mm) loads spent on rear refurbing suspension back to stanny iridium spark plugs lightened: rear head rests gone rear wiper gone single wiper fog lights gone spare tyre gone battery moved to boot swapped rear view mirror for much lighter one (me being anal) ive probly missed a few things, but at the end of the day its in the thousands and if you put my car on a rolling road it would still prbably be around the 167bhp mark. however if you put it on the scales it would probably be around 50kgs lighter. (than a standard gti with aircon + sunroof) it does handle rather well, the battery relocated to the boot seemd to help cornering a lot. some will call it the placebo effect but making your car lighter improves bhp/tonne, increases mpg, improoves braking/brake wear, improoves cornering/handling. have fun deciding what to do next ________________________________________ the world is changed by people in sheds |
