Got married a couple of weekends ago but had to work last weekend so couldn't go on honeymoon. We hired an Aston for 6 days though and spent 600miles ragging/larging it around Norfolk. Was suposed to be a Vantage but it was written off the day before we were going to pick it up so got the DB9, can't say it was much of a dissapointment though.

The sound when you press that button is just amazing, thinking the Rallye needs a new addition. And a V12Big grin

Cheers.

The vantage was £300 a day so £1800. The DB9 was £350 a day but we got it at the vantage price.

Plus petrol, which added £230. We managed about 19mpg but under heavy acceleration the lowest I saw was 3mpg.Whistle

Oh, and the risk of loosing £3500 deposit if I stuffed it into a verge..... which went up to £10,000 if the Sport button/traction control was turned off at the time of the accident.

Nice bit of kit. On to a winner with the DB9. All about the engine Smile
The Vantage is much better for handling but the DB9 oozes class!

Hefty deposit though if you did smack it! I'm sure that was always in the back of your mind!

    Congratulations on getting married.

Ahuh. Worked on a few of them, over the years. The most beautiful car around, I reckon. I've never driven one, propperly, but I've sat quite happily blipping the loud pedal longer than was probably necassary. Never get tired of that sound.

It was the most glorious sound. Before taking it back we had a few extra miles left on it so we dropped the windows and went for a spin through the Rotherhide Tunnel, around the roundabout and back through the tunnel. Spin is a bit of an exageration as it's 20mph limit so I had to drive at 15mph, get a gap, give it full beans to 20mph and giggle like a girl at the rumbling and popping sounds filling the tunnel.

There's an old Top Gear on Dave at the moment and JC is driving a DB9 across France - he's just been harrassed and told to go faster by the police in a blue 306......

The sport button was not touched! If a large, deserted carpak did pop up I was going to give it a press and see what happened, but it didn't and I'm £10k better offBig grin

    Thanks
